Wild Skies & Still Minds — Scottish Highlands Yoga Retreat

3 nights at Old Kilmun House · September 11–14, 2026

Some places have a quality of silence that does something to you. Old Kilmun House is one of them — perched between the still waters of Holy Loch and ancient woodland, with mist on the hills and the smell of peat in the air. Join us for three nights of yoga, meditation, guided walks, and deep rest in one of Scotland's most beautiful hidden corners.

Built in 1696 by the Duke of Argyll and later home to James Duncan — founder of the nearby Benmore Botanic Garden — Old Kilmun House carries centuries of stories within its walls. Now lovingly cared for by Ross and Katy, it feels like a proper Scottish family home: warm, characterful, and full of light. We'll be practising yoga in the house's beautiful yurt, which sits right in the grounds.

About the location

Old Kilmun House sits on the Cowal Peninsula — just 1 hour 40 minutes from Glasgow, and reachable by a scenic 15-minute ferry crossing from Gourock to Dunoon. That crossing across the Firth of Clyde is itself a kind of arrival: by the time you step off the boat, the week has already begun to loosen its grip. We can arrange transfers from the ferry for you.

Meals

Meals are an important part of the retreat. We eat together in the candlelit dining room — vegetarian and vegan food made with care, fresh ingredients, and real flavour. Breakfasts are unhurried. Dinners feel like the kind of table you don't want to leave. Dietary requirements are always catered for — just let us know.

Sound Bath:

On Saturday evening, we'll be joined by Caroline from InnerSolas for a special sound bath. Using Tibetan singing bowls, gong, and other instruments, Caroline guides you into a state of deep listening and release — something between meditation and sleep, and unlike anything else. Sound baths can be profoundly helpful for anxiety, tension, and exhaustion. This is one of the most loved parts of the weekend.

Sound Bath:

As a special treat on the Saturday evening we will be joined by Caroline from InnerSolas who will be gifting us with a Sound Bath. Sound baths are an ancient healing technique that aid those with physical pain, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure (amongst many others) and generally create a sense of relaxation, calm and greater wellbeing. This will be a real treat! â€‹

Jennifer Hendry, Cambridge

“What an amazing week in Paros it was – just perfect! The care and attention that must have gone into the planning (thank you!) clearly paid off as it was a wonderful week of yoga, amazing food and cocktails, new friendships and beautiful scenery in what felt like a ‘home from home’ hotel. Would definitely recommend future iterations of this trip to others!”

Marion, Wales (Cymru)

“Thank you Rosanna and Siôn for a fantastic yoga retreat in Greece. Everything was so well organised. A perfect venue, lovely people, amazing food, lots of activities as well as twice daily yoga. The yoga studio is very well equipped and the hotel is first class and run by a lovely family who go out of their way to make you feel welcome.”
